Field day is just 3 months away and its time we start planning. We had a poll and a large portion of people picked UF/IFAS for field day. Like last year, this year we will be concentrating on training and testing our equipment. We will be logging contact as well In the image below (North is to the top) we normally spend field day in the auditorium and align the antennas along the South side fence. This space has underground sprinkler system and can not be used for spikes.
My first choice was to set up stations on the side road but taking a closer look there are main power lines running down 44 West to East. I think setting up equipment and antennas in the field and using the auditorium for training, project classes and A/C facilities.
Before we start planning for food, equipment and stations, we need to know how many people we can count on being at the Volusia ARES field day. At the bottom of this page is a poll. Please select one answer by April 6th. With so many field day sites being planed in and around Volusia county I want to make sure we have the people to make this field day fun and a good learning experience.
