Keep an eye on Tropical Storm Dorian. The latest NHC track brings it ashore just south of Volusia County as an 80 mph hurricane on Sunday night, with the track forecasted over Volusia County through the night.
Keep in mind that this is five days out and the cone of uncertainty covered the entire Florida peninsula, the Georgia coastline, and part of South Carolina. It is too early to tell where, or if, the storm may make landfall.
That having been said, ARES may be asked to activate. If so, we will need amateur radio operators to man some of the special needs shelters.
If you haven’t already done so, please go to http://www.volusiaares.organd sign up for text message notifications.
Stay tuned for updates. James Lea WX4TV EC
