Due to the approach of newly-named tropical storm Nestor, which is forecast to make landfall tomorrow morning in the big bend area of Florida, Volusia ARES is canceling its participation in the Simulated Emergency Test tomorrow. As of 15:00 Friday, October 18, 2019, Volusia ARES is at Level III, monitoring and will be ready to provide assistance to Volusia County Emergency Management should the county experience any adverse affects from the outer bands.
We will hold a county-wide SET with the same parameters before next hurricane season.
Volusia ARES is still scheduled to support the Champions Ride for Charity on Sunday. Members who have signed up to participate should report to their assigned locations at their assigned times.
